The Story Behind Manny the Disco Lion

Manny the Disco Lion began as part of Mansell Entertainment, created to bring something unique, colourful and memorable to our children’s discos. What started as an idea for a fun character has grown into a whole world of stories, music and adventures for children.

Manny represents everything our discos are about — music, dancing, fun, friendship and making children feel part of something special. With his rainbow style, headphones and love of a party, Manny has become the face of our children’s entertainment.

But we wanted Manny to be more than just a character children see at a party.

We began creating Manny the Disco Lion children’s books, introducing Manny and his friends through colourful stories about friendship, imagination, teamwork, believing in yourself and having fun. The collection has continued to grow, with bedtime adventures, football, Halloween and Christmas stories featuring children including Jacob, Tayah and Riven.

We’ve also brought Manny into music, with the “Manny the Disco Lion” song available on Spotify, giving children the chance to sing and dance along with Manny even after their party has finished.

And now Manny is becoming part of the parties themselves. From Manny-themed discos and party experiences to decorations, themed products and our very own Manny bouncy castle, we are continuing to build a complete Manny experience.

For us, it’s about connecting everything together. A child might first meet Manny at one of our discos, then take home a book, listen to his music and continue the adventure long after the party is over.

Manny isn’t just our mascot — he’s becoming the heart of Mansell Entertainment.
